Configuration of the Opt In/Out Feature

Users may find that email sent to their address hosted by ABI hosting are being rejected for various reasons.  Generally this is due to the remote email server exhibiting behavior consistent with sending spam, viruses, or other abuse.  If the administrators of the remote email servers can not, or will not, correct the behavior that got their servers blocked, traffic from the remote servers will continue to be rejected.

The ability exists for individual users to bypass the restrictions which may cause email sent to them to be rejected so that they may receive email from these servers.  Like the spam configuration options discussed in the knowledge base article series found at http://kb.abihosting.com/7/, the Opt In/Out feature is configured within the Horde Groupware web application.  Those articles can be read for instructions on logging in to Horde (it would also be beneficial for all users to read those articles to familiarize themselves with the other spam-related options that are offered).

After signing in, expand the "Mail" section in the left navigation menu by clicking on the "+" symbol:

The menu should now have several extra items, including the "Opt In/Out" item discussed here:

Click on the "Opt In/Out" link and the preferences page will load.  Each option is described in the online help accessible by clicking the "Help" icon to the far right of each option.

After reading the descriptions, users may select the restrictions they wish to opt out of.  Clicking the "Save" button commits the configuration changes.  The changes are not immediate on the mail server.  It may take roughly one hour for the new settings to become active.
