Section One: Accessing the Email Administration Application
The Email Administration Application can be accessed two different ways. Method One:

Section Two: Logging into the Email Administration Application If you choose method One or Two the outcome will be the same, you will be presented with the following screen: ![]() The login name will be "postmaster@your_ABI_hosted_domain" So, if you wanted to login and manage the email accounts for "example.com", you would need to login as "postmaster@example.com". Section Three: The "Main Menu" Now that you have logged into your Email Administration panel, let's go over some of the functions the application can be used for. (If you are having trouble logging in, please review the KB article: "Email Administration Information For Domain Administrators.") Part one: OverviewBy selecting the "Overview" link from the menu, you are given a general overview of the total resources used by your domain. Next we will go over an example view of the "Overview" screen. ![]()
Part one: Overview Part 2 If you click on your domain or press the "Go" button, you will be taken to a detailed overview of your domain. ![]() This picture is an example of what a detailed domain overview will look like. The detailed domain overview is where you will want to go to manage your users disk space quota, this interface is where you will want to edit or remove Email Aliases or Email Mailboxes. The "Alias" section has 6 main columns, from left to right those are:
Part two: Add AliasThe "Add Alias" section allows you to create new Email Alias for your domain. In the example below we are adding an alias to the example.com domain with the alias of "kb". This Alias will point to "example@example.com" and we have marked the alias as active. (Note: Remember, you do not need to put the domain in the "Alias" field. This has already been selected for you in the drop down menu.) So now whenever someone emails "kb@example.com" the email will be delivered to "example@example.com". ![]() After you select the "Add Alias" button, you should see the following message if you have formated everything correctly. Part Three: Add MailboxThe "Add Mailbox" section allows you to create a new "Email Mailbox" for your domain, this is commonly refered to as an "Email Account". In the example below we are creating the email account "sales@example.com". Username: As you can see just like an alias, we only need to put the name for this account not the full address. Password & Password (again): As is common with most registration programs, you are required to enter the password twice for verification. Name: This is the name that will appear in the "Detailed Overview" list. As you can see this address is for the purpose of "Example Sales" Quota: Here is where you make the decision how much storage space you want to allocate to this user. The default is 20 MB; with our new email system accounts can now recieve 25MB messages. Please take this information into consideration when creating your account. ![]() If you are done editing this "Mailbox", click the "Add Mailbox" button. Part Four: PasswordThis tool allows you to change the "Postmaster" / "admin" password. This tool has three sections: Current Password: You will need to know the current password, input in this filed. New Password: The New Password you wish to assign. New Password (again): You need to type the new password again, to confirm your wish to make the change. Part Five: View LogThe View Log tool allows you to see the last 10 changes / actions changes for your domain. This section has 4 columns, they are: Timestamp: The date and time the action / change was made. Admin: The Admin user that made the change or took the action. Domain: The domain that was effected. Action: The Action that was taken or the change that was made. Data: The data that was changed. |
