How to retrieve Email Header information using Microsoft Outlook |
||||
I have been requested by ABI Hosting Technical Support to retrieve Email Header information, how do I do that?
If you use Microsoft Outlook, Email Header information will be called Internet Headers. The best way to retrieve this Header Information is to follow the steps outlined below: If you feel it IS SAFE to open the email: 1: Double click the email in question. 2: Select "View" then "Options". 3: Proceed to step 4. If you feel it IS NOT SAFE to open the email: 1: Right click on the email 2: Select "Options" 3: Proceed to step 4. 4: Once the "Message Options" window is open you should see a box that is called "Internet Headers", you would need to copy and paste that information in an email. The best way accomplish this is to forward the original email message* and paste the "Header Information" at the top. *If you are going to forward a message to ABI Support, please include a message of your own explaining the problem you have experienced. |
