Email Administration Information For Domain Administrators

IMAP AND POP EMAIL ADMINISTRATION

We have completed your IMAP email administration setup and it is now ready to use. You may manually access the email administrator by using the following URL http://webmail.clientsdomain/mailadmin/. Alternately, you can also go to our ABI Login page. There are two fields which need to be filled in as follows:

Login (email): postmaster@Your_Domain_Name

Password: Your Domain Administration Password.

RETRIEVING EMAIL ON YOUR LOCAL MACHINE
To view your email on your local machine, you will need to use a program such as Outlook, Eudora, Mail, etc. For more information on configuring your particular email client please check the Email Client configuration section of http://KB.ABIHosting.com.

WEBMAIL
You may view your email through a web browser by going to, http://webmail.clientsdomain. A login screen will be displayed. The link for SQWebMail will take you to the POP version of Webmail. If you choose the link for SquirrelMail, it will take you to the IMAP version of Webmail. Whichever you choose, on the Login screen please do the following: In the Name field enter the full email address that you wish to view (e.g., sales@yourdomain.com) and enter the Password for that account in the Password field. The Webmail features are self-explanatory.

When connecting to the server over an SSL-encrypted session for the first time, a warning may be displayed. The mail server uses a certificate signed by our own private CA (Certificate Authority). This does not lessen security in any way. However, the web browser you are using will correctly warn you that it cannot properly identify the cert. It is safe to continue and accept the certificate presented.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

You must create the email users for the email domain we created on our servers right away. Our email servers do email validity checks against any email domain we host on our servers, or any domain name we maintain with a Zone File on our Name Servers, that have an MX record we control. Not creating the users in advance can cause emails sent from email users within those domains, to other users within our network, to be rejected.

EMAIL LIST ACTIVITY IS NOT SUPPORTED BY OUR EMAIL SERVERS. EMAIL LIST ACTIVITY MAY RESULT IN THE TERMINATION OF SERVICES AND POTENTIAL FINES, AND/OR YOUR DOMAIN BEING BLOCKED BY OTHER INTERNET PROVIDERS. As you may know many large Internet providers may block senders who engage in inappropriate email list activity. In no event shall ABI Hosting or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use of its Email services, even if ABI Hosting or an ABI Hosting authorized representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage.
