Configuring Mozilla Thunderbird for POP3 |

If this is the first time configuring Mozilla Thunderbird you will be greeted with the "Account Wizard" window. If previous accounts have been created, this wizard can be accessed by selecting File -> New -> Account from the application's menu. Step One
In this first window choose "Email account" and client the "Next" button. Step Two
The second window prompts for two pieces of information. The "Your Name:" filed contains the name that will be displayed in the From: field when others receive your messages. Replace this with your full name or anything else you want people to see in the From: field. "Email Address:" is your email address. Replace with your actual address. Click the "Next" button when these two fields have been filled out. Step Three
On this screen check the "POP" radio button. In the "Incoming Server:" field, type in "pop." followed by your domain name. For first-time users there will be a field named "Outgoing Server:". If you are not using our add-on SMTP Remote Relay service, enter the information provided by your ISP. Click "Next" when finished. Step Four
In this step you will be prompted for the user name to authenticate with the server. The username must be your full email addess. Click the "Next" button after properly filling out the text field. Step Five
The value for "Account Name:" is a personal preference. This name will be displayed in the Folder view of Thunderbird for this account. Account creation is now finished. |
